The Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is holding in Beijing

The Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is holding in Beijing from today (25th) to 27th. The Summit Forum is the highest-standard international cooperation platform under the “Belt and Road” framework. This meeting is China's most important home diplomacy this year, and it is also a landmark international event.

According to the agenda of the meeting, there will be 12 sub-forums and an entrepreneurial conference today; tomorrow (26th), the opening ceremony and high-level meeting will be held; on April 27th, the leaders round table summit will be held. President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of the summit forum and deliver a keynote speech to host the Leaders Roundtable Summit. After the meeting, he will introduce the results of the summit to Chinese and foreign media. What are the highlights of this year's sub-forums and entrepreneurial conferences?

Compared with the previous session, the number of sub-forums has doubled and expanded to 12 sessions. The newly added sub-forums of this year are mainly the Clean Silk Road Sub-forum, the Digital Silk Road Sub-forum, the Green Road, the Innovation Road, the Local Cooperation Sub-Forum, and the Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum. These sub-forums not only correspond to the theme of policy communication, facility connectivity, trade smoothness, capital finance, and popular support proposed by the “Belt and Road Initiative”, but also correspond to President Xi Jinping’s “One Belt, One Road” in the keynote speech of the first forum in 2017. We must build a road to peace, a road to prosperity, an open road, a green road, a road to innovation, and a road to civilization. Therefore, from the five links to the six roads, the cooperation of the participating countries of the “Belt and Road” has gone through two years, and has risen from the initial infrastructure and trade to the policy, system and concept level.

In addition, this year will also host the Entrepreneur Conference for the first time. As the name suggests, the Entrepreneur Conference is to strengthen the direct connection between enterprises and the business community under the big framework of the “Belt and Road”. Therefore, there will be some signing projects at this entrepreneurial conference, which is also the most direct and pragmatic result. Today, there are nearly 900 Chinese and foreign representatives attending the Entrepreneur Conference, including 90 of the world's top 500, 78 of China's top 500, more than 100 central enterprises, and more than 200 private enterprises.
